Flexi membership at The Hertsmere is points-based golf with no joining fee. You buy a pot of points from £300 a year and spend them only on the rounds you actually play, so a busy month never costs you. No waiting list, no proposer, no committee to win over. You join, and you are on the first tee within days, on a Donald Steel parkland at Elstree, near Borehamwood, twenty minutes from London.
How Flexi works
Membership that flexes around your golf,
not the other way round
Most clubs charge you the same whether you play fifty rounds or five. So the wet winter you barely played still cost you full whack, and you spent the spring feeling you owed the place a round. Flexi does the opposite. You pick a tier, top up a pot of points, and each round draws down points based on the day and time you tee off. A Tuesday twilight nine costs a handful of points. A Saturday morning fourball costs more. Your points stay valid for twelve months, so a fortnight in Spain or a fortnight on the sofa with a bad back never burns money you have already paid. They sit there until you are ready to play.

Four membership tiers, same idea, different sized pot
Pick the pot that matches how often you get out. Every tier above Flexi 1 adds bonus points on top, so the bigger the pot, the cheaper each round works out.
Flexi 1
For the occasional player finding a rhythm.

Points last the full membership term. A separate England and Hertfordshire Golf affiliation fee applies on top (see below). At Flexi 4 a twilight round works out under £18 before the affiliation fee, half of what the buggy hire costs.
Affiliation
All prices per year. Rates are confirmed when you book; the live price online is always current.
A separate England and Hertfordshire Golf fee, paid on top of your Flexi tier. It buys you an official handicap, and you pay a reduced rate if The Hertsmere is your second club. It rises to £27.50 in 2027.

Tee times by the hour, so 9am covers any time from 9.00 to 9.59. In the darker months the later bands come forward with the light, and the points shown when you book are always the ones that apply.

Book a lesson with one of the Tee To Green Coaching PGA Professionals. Then make your mind up. Plenty of members started exactly here. They came for one round, did the sums on a season of points, and joined before they left the car park.

Membership questions, answered
No. The Hertsmere is a pay-and-play venue, so anyone can book a tee time seven days a week, weekend mornings included, with the best rates online. Flexi membership is for golfers who play often enough that points come out cheaper than paying round by round.
